Toronto Maple Leafs defenceman Cody Franson left Thursday's game against the Nashville Predators after being driven into the rounded glass beside the bench, face first by forward Mike Fisher.

Franson stayed down on the ice after the hit and was bleeding as he left the ice with the assistance of a team trainer.

Fisher was given a five minute major for boarding and a game misconduct on the play.

"Franson's visor cut the bridge of his nose," Leafs head coach Randy Carlyle said after the game.
