COLUMBUS, Ohio - The Columbus Blue Jackets have placed forward Matt Calvert on injured reserve retroactive to Oct. 10 and have recalled forward Sean Collins from their American Hockey League affiliate in Springfield, Mass.

Calvert sustained a lower-body injury and did not play in the Blue Jackets' game on Oct. 12.

The 24-year-old Collins, Columbus' ninth pick in the 2008 draft, appeared in five games with the Blue Jackets last season and did not score. The 6-foot-1, 198-pound centre has 12 goals and 12 assists and a plus-19 rating in 75 career AHL games with Springfield.

The 23-year-old Calvert is scoreless in three games this year. He has 20 goals and 19 assists in 100 career NHL games, all with the Blue Jackets.
