Florida Panthers forward Jesse Winchester was suspended three games on Friday for his hit on Chris Kelly of the Boston Bruins.

Early in the first period on Thursday, Winchester appeared to hit Kelly with an elbow and made contact with his head. Kelly went to the dressing room briefly but returned to the game.

No penalty was called on the play.

Kelly's teammate Gregory Campbell engaged Winchester in a fight after the incident.

Winchester scored the Panthers' lone goal in Thursday's contest.
