The first-place Erie Otters have bolstered their forward ranks.

The Otters have acquired centre Brendan Gaunce from the Belleville Bulls in exchange for left wing Stephen Harper and four picks in the OHL Priority Selection.

Gaunce has scored 10 goals and 16 assists in 22 games with the Bulls so far in 2013-14. Gaunce was selected by the Vancouver Canucks in the first round (26th overall) in 2012.

“Pleased to get a high profile player in Brendan Gaunce,” Otters general manager and owner Sherry Bassin said on the Otters web site. “Brendan plays both ends of the ice. He shares the puck and understands how to accept responsibity.”
