The Dallas Stars have placed defenceman Trevor Daley on Injured Reserve with a lower-body injury.

Daley suffered the injury Thursday night against the Toronto Maple Leafs when he became entangled with Maple Leafs forward James van Riemsdyk and slid into the end boards.

The 30-year-old was helped off the ice by two teammates and did not return.

Toronto ended up scoring on the play while Daley laid on the ice.

He has one goal and four assists in 27 games this season with the Stars.

Dallas also reassigned Travis Morin to the Texas Stars of the AHL. The 29-year-old has appeared in three games with Dallas this season.
