The Florida Panthers have signed right wing Brad Boyes to a two-year contract extension.

The extension is worth $2.625 million per year, according to TSN Hockey Insider Bob McKenzie.

Boyes, 31, has appeared in 59 games with the Panthers this season, scoring 17 goals and 11 assists.

He was slated to become an unrestricted free agent this summer after signing a one-year, $1 million deal for 2013-14.

Boyes was selected in the first round (24th overall) of the 2000 NHL Entry Draft by the Toronto Maple Leafs.

He has appeared in 665 career NHL games with the Panthers, Boston Bruins, St. Louis Blues, Buffalo Sabres and New York Islanders, scoring 185 goals and 250 assists.
