TAMPA, Fla. -- The Tampa Bay Lightning have signed centre Tyler Johnson to a three-year contract.

The team announced the news Friday.

Johnson and teammate Ondrej Palat are finalists for the NHL's top rookie award. They're joined by Nathan MacKinnon of the Colorado Avalanche in the running for the Calder Trophy.
