The Anaheim Ducks have signed defenceman Sami Vatanen to a two-year contract.

The Los Angeles Times has reported the deal is worth an average annual value of $1.2625 million.

The 23-year-old Vatanen scored six goals and added 15 assists in 48 games with the Ducks last season.

Originally selected in the fourth round (106th overall) of the 2009 NHL Entry Draft by the Ducks, Vatanen has scored eight goals and 15 assists in 56 career games with the club.

He was also a member of Finland's bronze medal-winning team at the 2014 Sochi Olympics.
