Penguins sign F Spaling to two-year, $4.4 million contract

The Pittsburgh Penguins signed forward Nick Spaling to a two-year, $4.4 million contract on Thursday.

The Penguins acquired the 25-year-old, as well as Patric Hornqvist, in the offseason from the Nashville Predators.

Spaling was scheduled to have his arbitration hearing on Thursday.

Spaling recorded 13 goals and added 19 assists over 71 games with the Predators in 2013-2014.
