Rangers name Williams new assistant coach

The New York Rangers announced Tuesday that they have named Darryl Williams the team's new assistant coach.

Williams, 46 joins the Rangers coaching staff after spending the last six seasons with the Vancouver Canucks.

Williams joins associate coach Scott Arniel and Ulf Samuelsson on head coach Alain Vigneault's staff. 

Williams and Vigneault are reunited after spending five years together on Vancouver's coaching staff. The two were together from 2008 until Vigneault's departer in 2013.
