PETERBOROUGH, Ont. — Greg Betzold broke a 5-5 deadlock at 5:22 of the third period as the Petes halted Erie's six-game win streak.

Steven Lorentz, Artem Vladirmirov, Eric Cornel and Steven Varga also scored for Peterborough (17-22-5) as Matthew Mancina made 41 saves for the win.

Nick Betz, Connor McDavid and Remi Elie each had a goal and an assist for the Otters (33-10-3) while Nicholas Baptiste and Darren Raddysh added the others. Daniel Dekoning started in net for Erie, but was pulled after allowing three goals on six shots in 11:31. Devin Williams took the loss, stopping 16-of-19 shots in relief.

BARRIE, Ont. - Matt Mistele and Bradley Latour each scored twice as the Oshawa Generals extended their win streak to seven games with a 5-1 win over the Barrie Colts on Thursday in Ontario Hockey League action.

Josh Brown also scored for the Generals (38-7-2), who sit six points ahead of the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds for top spot in the OHL standings, while Mitchell Vande Sompel tacked on two assists.

Andrew Mangiapane found the back of the net for the Colts (28-17-2).

Oshawa's Ken Appleby made 36 saves for the win as Mackenzie Blackwood turned away 29-of-33 shots for Barrie.

The Generals went 1 for 3 on the power play while the Colts failed to score on six chances with the man advantage.

KNIGHTS 5 SPITFIRES 2

WINDSOR, Ont. — Victor Mete had two goals and an assist and Christian Dvorak scored once and set up two others as London downed the Spitfires.

Josh Sterk and Chris Martenet also scored for the Knights (30-14-3). Tyler Parsons started in net for the Knights and stopped 20-of-21 shots through a period of action. Michael Giugovaz came in to start the second and kicked out 21-of-22 shots in relief.

Hayden McCool and Daniil Vertiy struck for Windsor (19-25-2), which got a 24-save outing from Alex Fotinos.

SPIRIT 4 WHALERS 2

SAGINAW, Mich. — Tye Felhaber scored the eventual winner at 9:51 of the third period as the Spirit doubled up Plymouth.

Dylan Sadowy, Mitchell Stephens and Keaton Middleton also scored for Saginaw (22-23-2) as Evan Cormier made 24 saves for the win.

Connor Chatham and Will Bitten supplied the offence for the Whalers (15-27-3) while Alex Nedeljkovic stopped 28-of-31 shots in defeat.
