OSHAWA, Ont. - Cole Cassels and Hunter Smith both scored third-period power-play goals as the Oshawa Generals downed the North Bay Battalion 4-1 on Friday night in Game 5 of their Ontario Hockey League Eastern Conference final series.

Matt Mistele and Anthony Cirelli also found the back of the net for the Generals, who now lead the best-of-seven series 3-2. Ken Appleby made 36 saves for the win.

Ray Huether had a short-handed goal for North Bay in the second period and Jake Smith stopped 31 shots.

Ryan Kujawinski and Mike Baird of the Battalion were both ejected in the third period. Kujawinski receiving a major penalty at 9:33 for kneeing while Baird was ejected for unsportsmanlike conduct at 15:25.

Oshawa went 3 for 8 on the power play while North Bay was scoreless on six chances with the man advantage.

The Generals will have a chance to advance to the OHL final on Sunday when they travel to North Bay, Ont., for Game 6.
