LONDON, Ont. - Mitchell Marner has carried his successful regular season into the playoffs.

Marner had a hat trick and added an assist as the London Knights downed the Kitchener Rangers 6-2 on Sunday in Game 2 of their Ontario Hockey League first-round playoff series.

The win gives London a 2-0 series lead. Kitchener hosts Game 3 on Tuesday.

Marner finished second in the OHL scoring race this season with 126 points. With a power-play and short-handed goal on Sunday, he has five goals so far this post-season.

Max Domi had a goal and two assists for the Knights with Josh Sterk and Julius Bergman rounding out the attack. Tyler Parsons made 41 saves in net.

Connor Bunnaman and Mike Davies scored for Kitchener. Jake Paterson turned aside 8-of-13 shots in 26:30 before being replaced by Dawson Carty, who made 18 saves the rest of the way.

BATTALION 3 FRONTENACS 2

NORTH BAY, Ont. — Mike Amadio scored twice, including the winner, as the Battalion took a 2-0 series lead by edging Kingston in Game 2 of their first-round playoff matchup.

Brenden Miller added the other for North Bay at 19:59 of the first period.

Lawson Crouse opened the scoring for the Frontenacs with a power-play goal in the first while Evan McEneny had a goal in the third.

The series shifts to Kingston, Ont., for Game 3 on Tuesday.

STORM 5 ATTACK 4 (OT)

GUELPH, Ont. — Chris Marchese scored his first goal of the post-season in overtime as the Storm edged Owen Sound to even its first-round series at a game apiece.

Tyler Bertuzzi led the Guelph offence with a hat trick while Jason Dickinson added the other. Luke Cairns had three assists.

Daniel Milne had a goal and three assists for the Storm. Santino Centorame, Kyle Platzer and Chris Bigras rounded out the attack.

Game 3 takes place in Owen Sound, Ont., on Tuesday.

GENERALS 2 PETES 1

OSHAWA, Ont. — Montreal Canadiens prospect Michael McCarron scored the winner in the third period as the Generals took a 2-0 series lead over Peterborough in their first-round playoff series.

Bradley Latour had the other goal for Oshawa.

Matthew Timms found the back of the net for the Petes on the power play in the third.

The series moves to Peterborough, Ont., for Game 3 on Tuesday.

OTTERS 6 STING 5

SARNIA, Ont. — Jake Marchment scored a hat trick as Erie took a 2-1 series lead over the Sting in its first-round playoff series.

Dylan Strome struck twice while Connor McDavid had the winner at 9:23 of the third period for the Otters.

Troy Lajeunesse, Hayden Hodgson, Pavel Zacha, Alexandre Renaud and Stephen Pierog supplied the offence for Sarnia.

The series resumes on Tuesday with Game 4 in Sarnia.
