SARNIA, Ont. - Jakob Chychrun scored with 2.3 seconds left as the Sarnia Sting erased a three-goal deficit to stun the Erie Otters 4-3 Thursday night at RBC Centre in Connor McDavid's return.

McDavid scored in his first Ontario Hockey League game since Nov. 11, when he broke a bone in his right hand during a fight. But he was less than pleased with Erie's effort in blowing a big lead and losing.

"I don't think we played a good game at all, to be honest," McDavid said. "They shouldn't have been that close to begin with. We should've been able to do more."

The Otters (27-9-3) went up 3-0 on goals by Nick Baptiste, McDavid and Taylor Raddysh. Alexandre Renaud scored for Sarnia (19-15-4) to cut the deficit to two before the end of the second period.

Then Jordan Kyrou scored twice in the third period against Otters goaltender Dylan Williams. Kyrou's second goal came with 47.6 seconds remaining and goaltender Taylor Dupuis (28 saves on 31 shots) out for an extra attacker.

Chychrun finished the comeback with an odd goal that needed review. The announcement of a good goal sent the 3,221 fans out into frigid weather with something to cheer about.

McDavid, who said he was fine after taking a big hit from Sarnia's Pavel Zacha in the third period, was not in the best of moods despite scoring his 17th goal in just his 19th game of the season.

"Not very good, obviously," McDavid said. "We just all those guys back and we come out and play a game like that. It's not very good."

McDavid's goal was also his 52nd point of the season, tying him for 10th in the OHL in scoring despite missing the past 20 games.
