The Edmonton Oilers and Nail Yakupov have agreed on a two-year contract extension worth an average annual value of $2.5 million, according to TSN's Ryan Rishaug. 

Yakupov was a restricted free agent.

The 21-year-old Yakupov had 14 goals and a career-high 33 points in 81 games for the Oilers this season, the last of his three-year entry level deal.

The former first-overall draft pick has 42 goals and 88 points in 192 career games with the Oilers.
