The Edmonton Oilers placed forward Taylor Hall on injured reserve Tuesday.

According to TSN Hockey Insider Bob McKenzie, the suspicion is that Hall's "bone bruise" has morphed into a fracture, which would mean the 23-year-old could be sidelined for four to six weeks.

Hall has missed the last three games with a left ankle injury that occurred on Feb. 2 in San Jose. He has 11 goals and 19 assists in 42 games this season.

The Oilers also placed Benoit Pouliot on injured reserve Tuesday. The 28-year-old has 11 goals and six assists this season.

The Oilers have called up forward Ryan Hamilton and goalie Richard Bachman.
