The 25-year-old has appeared in 26 games this season with the Oilers, posting a 10-12-2 record with a 3.14 GAA and a 0.901 SV.

The native of Sweden was drafted in the third round, 62nd overall, of the 2009 NHL Entry Draft by the New York Islanders.

The Blues could use some help between the pipes as Brian Elliott is on the injured reserve with a lower-body injury.

The deal was not confirmed by either club as of Friday night.

McKenzie also noted that forward Teddy Purcell and defenceman Justin Schultz will return to Edmonton from the team's California road trip, but still expects them to be traded by Monday afternoon.
