The Buffalo Sabres have signed forward Kyle Okposo to a seven-year, $42 million contract.

The 28-year-old had 22 goals and 42 assists for 64 points in 79 games this season - the final year of a five-year, $14 million deal he signed with the Islanders in 2011.

Drafted seventh overall by the Islanders in 2006, Okposo has scored 139 goals and 230 assists for 369 points in 529 regular-season games, including a career-high 27 goals and 69 points in 2014.

The St. Paul, Minnesota native has also scored seven goals and 15 points in 24 playoff appearances.
