The Canadian women's curling team is on a roll, and Mirjam Ott's Swiss rink could not stop them on Thursday.

Jennifer Jones' team out of Winnipeg beat the former world champion 8-5 at the Ice Cube Center in Sochi.

The Canadians put up a triple in the ninth end to snap a 5-5 tie.

The loss keeps the Canadians unbeaten, with a record of 5-0, while Ott's record drops to 3-2.

The Canadian skip isn't sure how many more wins will guarantee them a playoff berth, but it pleased with her team's performance thus far.

"We have a lot of games left ... so we still need a couple more W's to find ourselves in the playoffs, but we're pretty happy with where we are now," Jones said.

The Canadian women have Friday off, but it won'e be a typical rest day for the team.

"It's awesome, we're looking forward to it," Jones said. "It's Valentine's Day, but we have a couple of things going on. We have some interviews scheduled and we have a curling day at Canada House, so we're going to spend some time with our families and get sharp and rested and ready to go for the rest of our time.

"All of our parents and spouses are here, so we're pretty excited."

Canada is in action next against Japan at midnight ET on Saturday.
