Reid finishes seventh in women's skeleton

The Canadian women had the second-fastest runs in the final heat, but could not slide onto the skeleton podium on Friday in Sochi.

Sarah Reid and Mellisa Hollingsworth posted identical runs of 58.15 seconds in their fourth runs, but finished seventh and 11th, respectively.

Great Britain's Elizabeth Yarnold sealed gold with a run of 58.09, for a combined four-run time of 3:52.89.

American Noelle Pikus-Pace was second with 3:53.86, and Russian Elena Nikitina won bronze in 3:54.30

Calgary's Reid had a combined, four-run time of 3:54.73 while Hollingsworth of Eckville, Alta., finished her Olympic career with a combined time of 3:56.21.
