Florida Panthers defenceman Dmitry Kulikov was suspended for four games for his low hit to Dallas Stars forward Tyler Seguin on Friday night.

Kulikov waived his right for an in-person hearing. He has already served one game of the suspension during the Panthers' 2-1 shootout loss to the St. Louis Blues Sunday.

Seguin, who has 29 goals and 59 points, was helped off the ice after being clipped in the lower leg in the third period of the Stars' 2-0 victory.

Kulikov was given a major penalty and game misconduct on the play.

"It's a dirty shot," Stars coach Lindy Ruff said of the hit on unsuspecting Seguin. "You end up taking your best player out. Not only out of the game, but he's taken him out of the lineup for a little bit. We'll let the league deal with it."

Seguin was re-evaluated on Saturday and placed on injured reserve with a lower-body injury.
