BROSSARD, Que. - Defencemen Greg Pateryn and Davis Drewiske were among five players assigned to the AHL Hamilton Bulldogs by the Montreal Canadiens on Thursday.

Forward Drayson Bowman agreed to a one-year, two-way contract with Montreal later in the day. He will make $575, 000 at the NHL level and $150, 000 in the AHL. It is also expected the Canadiens will place Bowman on waivers over the next few days.

Forwards Sven Andrighetto, Jake Dowell and Gabriel Dumont were also sent to the Bulldogs, who are holding training camp in St. John's, NL.

Drewiske and Dumont were placed on waivers.

The moves leaves 28 players in the Canadiens' camp (16 forwards, nine defencemen, three goaltenders), including forwards Bowman, Christian Thomas and Jacob de la Rose, as well as blueliners Nathan Beaulieu, Jarred Tinordi and Francis Bouillon.

The Canadiens close out the pre-season on Friday and Saturday with a home-and-home series with the Ottawa Senators.
