The New England Patriots continue atop the TSN.ca NFL Power Rankings, ahead of the Green Bay Packers, Denver Broncos and Cincinnati Bengals, the same top four teams as the previous week.

Teams moving up this week include the New York Jets and San Diego Chargers, both up four spots to eight and ten, respectively.

The St. Louis Rams, from 22 to 18, and Washington, climbing from 26 to 20, are moving up too.

Heding the other way, the injury-riddled Buffalo Bills slide from eight to 12, and the Oakland Raiders' loss at Chicago knocked them down from 15 to 19.

Falling fast, the Miami Dolphins crash from 20 to 29.

Coming off their bye week, the Patriots are in good shape going to Dallas, where the Cowboys are trying to patch together a lineup. Doesn't seem like an ideal way to face Brady & Co.

Maybe a win at San Francisco should have come more easily than it did for the Packers, but seeing the defence hold a team to three points is a positive too, especially when it seems safe to trust the offence as guided by Aaron Rodgers.

More of the same from the Broncos: so-so performance from Peyton Manning but, coupled with a strong defence, it was enough to take care of the Vikings. For all the Broncos' problems, they are still unbeaten.

It's not enough that the Falcons have WR Julio Jones, who may be the league's most dangerous receiver, but RB Devonta Freeman has suddenly turned into a big-time threat in the ground game.

It might be time to put the permanent double team on WR Julio Jones, who has been targeted 46 times through three weeks. Of course, when it wasn't Jones beating Dallas for 12 catches, 164 yards and a couple of touchdowns, it was RB Devonta Freeman, piling up 193 yards from scrimmage with three touchdowns.

Couldn't quite contain Rams RB Todd Gurley and ended up suffering their first loss of the season as a result. When not turning the ball over -- they lost that aspect of the game 3-0 -- the Cardinals offence is still formidable.

Got a break at the end of the Monday nighter, when the officials didn't seem to know the rule about batting the ball out of the end zone, to escape with a win against Detroit. Not the most impressive win, but a win nonetheless.
