The New Orleans Pelicans announced that shooting guard Eric Gordon will be out indefinitely after an MRI revealed a torn labrum in his left shoulder. Gordon initially suffered the injury in Saturday night's win against the Utah Jazz.

He will undergo further evaluation throughout the week by the team's medical staff to determine the best course of action moving forward.

Gordon has struggled this season, averaging 9.5 points per game on 40% shooting. He has started in all 12 games for the Pelicans (7-5).

The team has yet to announce who will replace him in the starting lineup.

Gordon has a player option of approximately $15.5 million for next season.
