Lightning 5, Red Wings 1
Petr Mrazek - 1 - Lots of scramble plays in Game 2 and wasn’t as set and in control as he was last game. The Killorn goal he was weak on his post. A couple of great shot placements by Johnson beat him, too. He didn’t have much help in this game and was lifted after two.
Jimmy Howard - 4 – He did a good job in mop-up duty in the third period and helped stop the bleeding. Looked sharp in his 20 minutes.
Ben Bishop - 4 - No chance on the goal against… It was a lucky bounce. He was sharp all game, good with rebounds and made a few great saves including a right pad save on Landon Ferraro
Blues 4, Wild 1
Jake Allen - 4 - Sharp early on and made a good save on Parise. He got a few lucky bounces that were dragged off the goal line - one by himself, one by Backes – and made a huge stop on Koivu in the second period. He was sharp in the third to deliver the win.
Devan Dubnyk - 2 - No chance on the first Tarasenko goal, but the second one was a shortside, bad-angle one that was stoppable… He got caught cheating. The Berglund goal was not great as well, tough night for him.
Penguins 4, Rangers 3
Henrik Lundqvist - 2 - Lots of weird bounces today in front of him and there was not a lot he could do on the goals. Kunitz’s was a shortside goal off a broken play and Game 2 just wasn’t “vintage Hank”.
Marc-Andre Fleury - 4 - The third goal was a cheapy with a few seconds left, the other two goals he didn’t have much chance on. He made big saves on St. Louis, Brassard and Zuccarello and was real sharp when he had to be.
Ducks 2, Jets 1
Ondrej Pavelec - 4 - Outstanding early in the game and had a huge first period, stopping 17 shots and keeping the Jets in the game. He made at least six big saves on the Ducks’ top line to keep the Jets in the game and was the only reason the Jets were in the game. He had no chance on the Maroon goal, but the game-winner was bad, short-side from Silfverberg with 30 seconds left. That’s all people will talk about, but the Jets are not even close in this game if not for his heroics.
Frederik Andersen - 4 - No chance of the goal he surrendered, it was goaltender interference because Kesler pushed Stempniak into the net. It was the right call by the refs. He was really good in the second, making a big save on Wheeler. When down 1 - 0, he made a timing save that gave them a chance to stay in it.
