SAINT JOHN, N.B. - Mathieu Joseph scored the winner and added two assists as the Saint John Sea Dogs slipped past the Charlottetown Islanders 8-7 in overtime on Friday night in Quebec Major Junior Hockey League action.

Matthew Highmore had a goal and three assists while Matt Murphy added a goal and two helpers for the Sea Dogs (26-13-3). Joe Veleno, Nathan Noel, Sam Povorozniouk, Spencer Smallman and Jakub Zboril rounded out the attack. Thomas Chabot chipped in with three assists.

Jake Coughler struck twice for Charlottetown (16-21-6), which also got goals from Mitchell Balmas, Oliver Cooper, Filip Chlapik, Daniel Sprong and Bradley Kennedy.

Alex Bishop picked up the win in net after kicking out 13-of-15 shots in 31:28 of relief. Marc-Antoine Turcotte started for Saint John, but was replaced after turning aside 20-of-25 shots in 31:30. Calgary Flames prospect Mason McDonald made 50 saves in the loss.

The Sea Dogs scored twice on eight power plays, with the Islanders converting twice on four chances with the man advantage.

MONCTON, N.B. — Manuel Wiederer and Kevin Klima both had a pair of goals as the Wildcats got past Quebec.

Kelly Klima, Vaclav Karabacek and Liam Murphy also scored for Moncton (29-10-6), which got four assists from Conor Garland and three helpers from Cody Donaghey.

Bronson Beaton had two goals and an assist for the Remparts (23-17-4). Austin McEneny and Matthew Boucher had the others.

BOISBRIAND, Que. — Miguel Picard scored twice and added an assist as the Armada doubled up Shawinigan.

Tyler Hylland had a goal and two assists for Blainville-Boisbriand (16-22-6), with Guillaume Archambault also chipping in.

Danny Moynihan and Alex Pawelczyk found the back of the net for the Cataractes (28-12-3).

VICTORIAVILLE, Que. — Julien Gauthier scored the winner on the power play early in the third period as Val-d'Or held off the Tigres.

David Henley found the back of the net 14 seconds into the second period for the Foreurs (32-9-3).

Alexandre Goulet had a power-play goal in the first for Victoriaville (20-16-7).

Val-d'Or's Alexis Pepin was ejected in the third period after receiving a major penalty for boarding.
