VAL-D'OR, Que. - Alexis Pepin's goal 4:27 into the third period stood up as the winner as the Val-d'Or Foreurs edged the Gatineau Olympiques 3-2 in Quebec Major Junior Hockey League action on Wednesday.

Julien Gauthier and Jan Mandat also scored for Val-d'Or (21-21-7).

Jonathan Bourcier and Tommy Veilleux replied for the Olympiques (19-26-4). Yakov Trenin picked up assists on both goals.

Foreurs goaltender Keven Bouchard stopped 20 shots to pick up the victory.

Gatineau's Nicolas Lachance made 28 saves.

Val-d'Or was 1 for 5 on the power play while the Olympiques failed to score on two chances with the man advantage.

SCREAMING EAGLES 5 SAGUENEENS 1

SYDNEY, N.S. — Kyle Farrell scored twice and set up another goal and Miguel Sullivan made 42 saves as the Screaming Eagles soared past Chicoutimi in their third consecutive win.

Phelix Martineau had a goal and an assist for Cape Breton (21-22-5) and Jacob Smith and Evgeny Svechnikov rounded out the attack.

Alexandre Ranger had the lone goal for the Sagueneens (26-18-3), who dropped their third straight game despite outshooting the Screaming Eagles 43-24.

SHERBROOKE, Que. — Evan Fitzpatrick made 23 saves and five different skaters scored as the Phoenix toppled Drummondville to extend their winning streak to three games.

Alexis Vanier, Raphael Lafontaine, Cameron Darcy, Kay Schweri and Carl Neil had a goal and an assist apiece for Sherbrooke (27-17-4).

Philippe Pelletier-Leblanc supplied the offence for the Voltigeurs (23-23-3), who got a 23-save outing from Anthony Brodeur.
