MONCTON, N.B. - Guillaume Gauthier scored the eventual winner as the Quebec Remparts edged the host Moncton Wildcats 4-3 on Saturday in Quebec Major Junior Hockey League semifinal action.

Gauthier broke a 3-3 deadlock at 14:23 of the third period to give Quebec a 2-0 lead in the best-of-seven-series.

Yanick Turcotte, Ryan Graves and Adam Erne also scored for the Remparts.

Conor Garland, Taylor Burke and Ivan Barbashev found the back of the net for the Wildcats.

Quebec's Zachary Fucale made 29 saves for the win as Alex Dubeau turned away 28-of-32 shots for Moncton.

The Remparts went 0 for 1 on the power play while the Wildcats scored once on five chances with the man advantage.

Game 3 goes Monday night in Quebec.

RIMOUSKI, Que. — Louis-Phillip Guindon only had to make 19 saves as the Oeanic blanked Val-d'Or to take a 2-0 lead in their best-of-seven semifinal.

Anthony DeLuca, Deven St-Hilaire and Michael Joly supplied the scoring for Rimouski.

Etienne Montpetit kicked out 41-of-44 shots for the Foreurs, who host Game 3 on Tuesday.
