SAINT JOHN, N.B. — Nathan Noel scored his second goal of the game at 19:04 of the third period as the Saint John Sea Dogs edged the visiting Cape Breton Screaming Eagles 4-3 on Wednesday in Quebec Major Junior Hockey League action.

Noel opened the scoring for Cape Breton shorthanded midway through the second period after his club fell behind 2-0. Thomas Chabot and Mathieu Joseph added a goal apiece to make it 3-2 after 40 minutes.

Marcus Tesink responded for Cape Breton at 18:10 of the third, but Noel found the back of net less than a minute later as the Sea Dogs (15-6-3) avoided overtime to earn the two points.

Giovanni Fiore and Massimo Carozza scored in the first for the Screaming Eagles (11-12-2).

Alex Bishop made 39 saves for the win as Kyle Jessiman stopped 30-of-34 shots in a losing cause.

Saint John went 2 for 7 on the power play while Cape Breton failed to score on five chances with the man advantage.

ROUYN-NORANDA, Que. — Antoine Waked and Mathieu Boucher each had a goal and an assist as the Huskies handed Sherbrooke its third straight loss.

Johnatan Legault and Rafael Harvey-Pinard also scored for Rouyn-Noranda (16-5-3), which got a 20-save outing from Samuel Harvey.

Carl Neill struck twice for the Phoenix (9-12-3) while Marek Zachar had the other. Evan Fitzpatrick kicked out 22-of-26 shots in defeat.
