BATHURST, N.B. - Daniel Sprong opened the game with a power-play goal in the first period, then closed it out with the overtime winner as the Charlottetown Islanders edged the Acadie-Bathurst Titan 4-3 in Quebec Major Junior Hockey League action on Sunday.

Sprong, who also had two assists for a four-point outing, found the back of the net with his 35th goal of the season just 34 seconds into the extra period.

Filip Chlapik had a goal and a helper for Charlottetown (31-27-5), while Alexandre Goulet rounded out the attack.

Raphael Corriveau tied the game for the Titan (15-41-7) at 18:31 of the third period. Egor Popov and Mark Simpson also scored.

Islanders goaltender Mason McDonald stopped 34 shots for the win. Acadie-Bathurst's Reilly Pickard made 24 saves.

Charlottetown erupted for four power-play goals on seven attempts. The Titan failed to score on six chances with the man advantage.

SYDNEY, N.S. — Olivier LeBlanc scored twice, including the tiebreaking goal with 37 seconds left in the third period, to lift the Screaming Eagles over Halifax.

Kyle Farrell had a goal and three assists for Cape Breton (28-29-6), Stephen Anderson had a goal and two helpers and Clark Bishop also scored.

Nikolaj Ehlers led the Mooseheads (30-27-6) with three goals — one shorthanded — and an assist. Danny Moynihan scored one and set up another.

GATINEAU — Daniel Audette scored in regulation and again in the shootout as Sherbrooke slipped past the Olympiques.

Tim Wieser also scored for the Phoenix (33-25-6) in the tiebreaker, and Raphael Lafontaine rounded out the offence in regulation.

Louick Marcotte and Joey Richard scored for Gatineau (27-30-6).

RIMOUSKI, Que. — Charles Guevremont scored the winner in overtime to lift Chicoutimi over the Oceanic.

Sebastien Gauthier and Jeremy Bouchard found the back of the net in regulation for the Sagueneens (27-30-6).

Christopher Clapperton struck twice for Rimouski (42-15-5), including a power-play goal to tie the game midway through the third period.

SHAWINIGAN, Que. — Gionvanni Fiore scored twice and Brandon Gignac had a goal and two assists as the Cataractes pushed past Rouyn-Noranda.

Julien Nantel led the Huskies (31-28-4) with a goal and an assist. Philippe Myers and Francis Perron also scored.

SAINT JOHN, N.B. — Connor Garland had a goal and three assists to pace Moncton past the Sea Dogs.

Ivan Barbashev scored once with the man advantage and set up another goal for the Wildcats (43-17-3), while Stephen Johnson, Dominic Talbot-Tassi, and Cameron Askew each had a power-play goal and an assist. Bronson Beaton also scored.

Nathan Noel and Mathieu Joseph supplied the offence for Saint John (31-23-9). Mark Tremaine assisted on both goals.

BOISBRIAND, Que. — Philippe Pelletier-Leblanc scored a go-ahead, power-play goal 1:48 into the third period and Drummondville held on to top the Armada.

Joey Rattelle, Mathieu Sevigny, and Philippe Raymond also scored for the Voltigeurs (25-34-4), Adam Chapman added an empty-netter with four seconds left on the clock and Michael Carcone had four assists.

Nikita Jevpalovs struck twice for Blainville-Boisbriand (39-15-9). Philippe Sanche supplied the rest of the offence.
