BAIE-COMEAU, Que. - Conor Garland sparked Moncton's comeback late in the third period and then scored the shootout winner as the Wildcats erased a three-goal deficit to beat the host Baie-Comeau Drakkar 6-5 on Thursday in Quebec Major Junior Hockey League action.

With less than five minutes left in regulation and trailing 5-2, Garland brought Moncton within two goals. Matthew Klebanskyj scored at 17:28 and Dominic Talbot-Tassi forced overtime when he tied the game with just 42 seconds remaining.

Jacob Sweeney and Zachary Malatesta also scored for the Wildcats (35-16-3), while Garland tacked on two helpers for a three-point night.

Vaclav Karabacek led the Drakkar (31-16-8) offensively with a goal and two assists. Jasmin Boutet and Simon Desbiens had a goal and assist apiece while Jeremy Gregoire and Frederic Gamelin added the others.

Moncton's Jason Rioux made 30 saves through regulation and overtime before Alex Dubeau came in for the shootout. Dubeau stopped all three shooters to earn the win. Philippe Cadorette stopped 48-of-53 shots for Baie-Comeau.

The Wildcats went 1 for 4 on the power play while the Drakkar converted one of five chances with the man advantage.

BOISBRIAND, Que. — Nicolas Aube-Kubel scored twice and added an assist and Etienne Montpetit made 28 saves as Val-d'Or snapped the Armada's three-game win streak.

Anthony Beauregard had a goal and two assists for the Foreurs (23-22-8), while Jan Mandat and Julien Gauhtier each had a goal and an assist.

Philippe Sanche and Nikita Jevpalovs supplied the offence for Blainville-Boisbriand (34-14-7) as Samuel Montembeault turned away 21-of-25 shots in defeat.

DRUMMONDVILLE, Que. — Ryan Penny, Mathieu Lemay and Julien Pelletier each had a goal and an assist as Rouyn-Noranda handed the Voltigeurs their sixth straight defeat.

Francis Perron and Antoine Waked also scored for the Huskies (27-23-3), who got a 17-save outing from Jeremy Belisle.

Mathieu Sevigny had a pair of goals for Drummondville (23-28-3) and Georgs Golovkovs had the other. Joe Fleschler kicked out 20-of-24 shots in a losing cause.

VICTORIAVILLE, Que. — Adam Erne and Massimo Carozza each scored twice as Quebec toppled the Tigres for its fifth win in a row.

Marc-Olivier Roy and Nikolas Brouillard also scored for the Remparts (33-18-3) and Dmytro Timashov tacked on three assists. Callum Booth made 35 saves for the victory.

Mathieu Ayotte had a pair of goals for Victoriaville (22-26-6), which dropped its third straight outing, and Pascal Laberge and Angelo Miceli added the others. Chase Marchand started in net for the Tigres but allowed three goals on 15 shots and found himself on the bench to open the second. Olivier Tremblay took the loss after turning away 20-of-23 shots in 38:49 of relief.
