CHARLOTTETOWN - Conor Garland, Bronson Beaton and Ivan Barbashev all scored in the shootout as the Moncton Wildcats edged the Charlottetown Islanders 5-4 on Monday in Quebec Major Junior Hockey League action.

Taylor Burke and Noah Zilbert had two goals apiece in regulation time for Moncton (41-17-3). Alex Dubeau stopped 33-of-37 shots for the Wildcats and turned away three of five skaters in the shootout.

Daniel Sprong struck twice for Charlottetown (28-27-5), which is winless in its last four games. Alexandre Goulet and Ross Johnston also found the back of the net. Mason McDonald made 26 saves in regulation, and stopped two of five skaters in the shootout.

Moncton went 0 for 2 on the power play, while the Islanders were 1 for 3 with the man advantage.
