It appears Tomas Kaberle's time with the New York Rangers is over.

The veteran defenceman turned down an offer to stay with the Rangers' American Hockey League affiliate Hartford Wolf Pack and on Monday, the team released the 36-year-old.

He signed a Professional Tryout (PTO) agreement on Friday and played two games with the Wolf Pack over the weekend, posting two assists and four shots during.

Kaberle appeared in 984 NHL games over 14 seasons with Toronto, Boston, Carolina and Montreal. He last played in the NHL with the Canadiens during the 2012-13 season.

Kaberle has amassed 87 goals and 476 assists for 563 points during his NHL tenure, winning a Stanley Cup with Boston in the spring of 2011. He played 11 full seasons with the Maple Leafs before a February 2011 trade to the Bruins.
