BASEL, Switzerland — Milos Raonic was upset in the first round of the Swiss Indoors tennis tournament Tuesday, falling 3-6, 6-3, 6-3 to Ricardas Berankis.

An efficient Berankis converted three of five break point opportunities against the second-seeded Canadian en route to winning the match in one hour 49 minutes.

Raonic's signature serve was in evidence, as he hit 13 aces to just one for Berankis. But Raonic only managed two break chances against Berankis, converting one, and had 28 unforced errors.

This was one of Raonic's last chances to tune up for the ATP Finals in London later this month. The Paris Masters is the only event left before the season-ending marquee tournament at the O2 Arena.

Raonic, ranked fourth on the ATP circuit, has already qualified for the tour final.

Berankis, ranked No. 91 in the world, will next face Argentina's Federico Delbonis.
