Milos Raonic says he underwent successful foot surgery to repair a pinched nerve and will try to get on court "as quick as possible."
The 24-year-old from Thornhill, Ont. made the announcement via Instagram on Wednesday.
Raonic withdrew from the Italian Open in Rome this week to have the surgery and get better. The recovery time is estimated at a week-and-a-half to two weeks.
With the French Open approaching fast, his recovery time would be cutting it close but Raonic's camp remains hopeful he will be able to play at Roland Garros.
The injury is the same one that forced Raonic to retire in the quarterfinals of the Monte Carlo Masters last month.
The French Open starts May 24 from Roland Garros in Paris, France.
Raonic is currently ranked fourth in the world rankings and has a 21-9 record this season. The Canadian fell to Scotland's Andy Murray in the quarters of the Madrid Open.
