(SportsNetwork.com) - With doubleheaders come pitching migraines.

Managers Joe Maddon and Buck Showalter will continue their recent rotation juggling on Friday at Camden Yards, when the Tampa Bay Rays visit the Baltimore Orioles for a pair of games to begin a four-game weekend series.

Showalter will again go to youngster Kevin Gausman, who's already worked the Baltimore to Norfolk majors-to-minors shuffle three times in the last six weeks. He was primarily used during the recent shelving of teammate Miguel Gonzalez thanks to an oblique muscle strain.

The Orioles have used a six-man rotation recently and come in after four wins in their last five games, including a 12-inning defeat of the Chicago White Sox on Wednesday, in which six relief pitchers were used.

Gausman won his last three starts before his most recent return to Triple-A, and was a 2-0 winner over the Rays after allowing a walk and five hits on June 18.

He'll be faced by Alex Colome, who'll make his first start of the season after one previous relief outing in 2014.

He pitched four innings of relief against Toronto on May 26 and subsequently spent a month at Triple-A Durham, where he was 3-1 with a 3.54 earned run average in five starts.

Colome has never faced the Orioles in four big-league outings.

The Rays, who are beginning an 11-game road swing with the twinbill, will start Jake Odorizzi in the second game while the right-hander tries to win two straight starts for the first time.

He authored an 8-0 victory over Houston in his last outing on Saturday, surrendering just one hit and striking out 10 in 7 1/3 innings.

Odorizzi faced the Orioles on June 16 and gave up three hits in 5 1/3 innings.

Baltimore's Chris Tillman gets the call in the nightcap and can follow up on his best effort of 2014, in which he tossed seven scoreless innings while allowing four hits in an 8-0 defeat of the New York Yankees on Sunday.

"I made some adjustments during my side sessions and I was able to carry them out to the mound with me," Tillman said.

Tillman is 2-6 in 12 career starts against Tampa Bay and got a no-decision in the most recent matchup, in which he gave up three runs in six innings of a game the Orioles won, 5-3.

The Rays are batting just .227 and have scored fewer than 2.5 runs per game in eight meetings with Baltimore this season.

On Wednesday in Tampa Bay, David Price struck out 11 in 8 1/3 innings as the Rays defeated the Pittsburgh Pirates, 5-1.

Price (6-7) allowed just one run on five hits with one walk for the Rays, who salvaged the finale of a three-game set. The left-hander became the first pitcher in the majors to record double-digit strikeouts in five straight starts since Johan Santana did it for the Twins in 2004.

Over his last five starts, Price has struck out a total of 54 over 39 2/3 innings while surrendering 10 earned runs on 32 hits. Despite those numbers, however, he won for only the second time over that span (2-3).

"I had a ton of defensive plays behind me," Price said. "Those are game changers."

Ben Zobrist had two hits, drove in a run and scored twice for the Rays, who got all they would need during a three-run first inning to end a 10-game homestand at 5-5.

In Baltimore, Nelson Cruz hit a game-tying grand slam in the eighth inning Wednesday night and the Orioles beat the Chicago White Sox, 5-4, on a wild pitch hours later in the 12th.

The Orioles were being shut out in the three-game series finale before Cruz's two-out blast, which came on Chicago's fourth pitcher of the inning.

The game was delayed for more than an hour between the ninth and 10th innings because of rain.

In the 12th, Nick Hundley drew a leadoff walk against Daniel Webb (4-2) and pinch-runner David Lough went to third base on Nick Markakis' single.

Lough stumbled and fell making the turn and had to scramble back to third, then scored moments later when Webb uncorked a low pitch to Steve Pearce that kicked past catcher Tyler Flowers.

The Orioles bounced back from Tuesday's 4-2 loss to win for the sixth time in their last eight games.
