MADRID - Real Madrid says Karim Benzema has a hamstring injury in his right leg and is doubtful for Wednesday's Champions League game against Manchester City.

Benzema was substituted at halftime of the first leg in Manchester on Tuesday and the team said the French striker has been diagnosed with the muscle injury after tests carried out on Thursday.

The club says Benzema's recovery "will continue to be assessed," but he is likely to miss Saturday's game at Real Sociedad in the Spanish league.

Real Madrid is one point behind Barcelona and Atletico Madrid with three matches to go.

The club did not release any information about the condition of forward Cristiano Ronaldo, who reportedly has a hamstring problem in his right leg.
