Cincinnati Reds starter Homer Bailey is done for the year.

The Reds tweeted Friday that the 28-year-old right-hander is scheduled to have Tommy John surgery and will not return to the line-up until sometime in the 2016 season.

Bailey - who has a sprained ligament in his right elbow - was moved from the 15-day disabled list to the 60-day DL on Apr. 29.

He made two starts this season, posting an 0-1 record with a 5.56 earned-run average and a 1.765 WHIP.

A veteran of nine seasons with the Reds, Bailey possesses a 58-51 career record with a 4.19 ERA and a 1.311 WHIP.
