Ashburn, VA - The Washington Redskins have parted ways with a pair of veterans, terminating the contracts of guard Chris Chester and cornerback Tracy Porter Wednesday.

Chester had started all 16 games in each of his four seasons since signing a five-year, $20 million contract with Washington following the 2011 lockout. The Redskins will save $4 million towards this year's salary cap with the move.

The 32-year-old Chester has logged 111 starts over a nine-year career which began with Baltimore in 2006. He spent his first five seasons with the Ravens before signing with the Redskins as a free agent.

Porter was entering the final season of a two-year deal he signed in March of 2014. The journeyman corner played in just three games in 2014 before being sent to injured reserve in November.
