James Reimer has signed a five-year, $17 million contract with the Florida Panthers.

The 28-year-old netminder went 17-14-7 with a 2.31 goals against average, .922 save percentage and three shutouts in 40 games with the Toronto Maple Leafs and San Jose Sharks this past season.

The Morweena, Manitoba native is coming off a two-year, $4.6 million contract signed in 2014.

Drafted 99th overall by the Maple Leafs in 2006, Reimer was acquired by the Sharks days before the 2016 Trade Deadline. He owns a 91-78-23 record with a 2.79 GAA and .914 save percentage in 215 games in seven seasons.
