The 38-year-old Anthopoulos left the Blue Jays in late October after almost 12 years with the organization and the past six as general manager. The Jays finished with a 93-69 to win the American League East and reach the postseason for the first time since 1993 where they lost the American League Championship Series to the eventual World Champion Kansas City Royals in six games.

Under the Montreal native, the team posted a 489-483 record.

During his tenure, the team dealt the likes of Roy Halladay and Vernon Wells, acquired Josh Donaldson and RA Dickey and drafted Marcus Stroman, Aaron Sanchez and Roberto Osuna.
