The Oakland Athletics have reacquired shortstop Jed Lowrie from the Houston Astros in exchange for minor league pitcher Brendan McCurry.

Lowrie is slated to make $7.5 million next season and $6.5 million in 2017.

The 31-year-old joined the Astros as a free agent prior to the 2015 season and appeared in 69 games for the AL Wild Card team.

Lowrie has also previously played for the Boston Red Sox and the Astros when they were in the National League.
