More bad news could be coming for the Buffalo Bills.

Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News reports Bills star receiver Sammy Watkins could be shut down for several weeks following the team's season-opening loss to the Baltimore Ravens with pain in his foot.

Mehta said Watkins is playing with severe discomfort in his surgically repaired foot. The Daily News reported x-rays taken after the Bills loss came back negative, meaning the issue now becomes whether Watkins can manage the pain.

Watkins could be shut down for several weeks and in an extreme scenario, the entire season, according to the report.

Watkins had four receptions for 43 yards in the Bills opener on Sunday.
