Free-agent closer Fernando Rodney is in active talks with multiple teams to find a new home, including the Toronto Blue Jays, according to a report by Chris Cotillo of SB Nation.

Cotillo reports that the San Diego Padres, Arizona Diamondbacks and Chicago Cubs are also actively discussing the 38-year-old right-hander.

Nick Cafardo of the Boston Globe previously reported on the Blue Jays interest in Rodney.

Rodney finished the 2015 season with the Cubs after an August trade from the Seattle Mariners, where he had been displaced from his closer role earlier in the season.

The Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic native was in his second season with the Mariners, he posted a Major League leading 48 saves in 2014.

Rodney has converted 236 saves over his 13-year career, including 48 with the Tampa Bay Rays in 2012, leading him to a fifth place finish in the AL Cy Young Award race.

He has also played for the Los Angeles Angels and Detroit Tigers.
