SAN DIEGO - Chargers punter Mike Scifres was carted off the field in the second quarter Sunday night with his left arm immobilized after being hit on a punt.

The Chargers said Scifres sustained a shoulder injury against the Patriots. According to a report from ESPN, the team is worried the punter broke his clavicle.

New England special teams player Brandon Bolden blocked Scifres' kick deep in Chargers territory and crashed into the punter as he was following through. The contact sent Scifres twisting and hard to the ground.

Scifres remained down for several minutes. San Diego trainers wrapped Scifres arm securely to his side before his sat on the back of the cart. Bolden went over to Scifres before he was taken off the field.
