The Toronto Blue Jays look set to carry three catchers on their 25-man roster for the immediate future as All-Star Russell Martin contends with a lower-body injury.

Thole, 28, has spent a majority of the season, his third in the Jays organization, with the team's Triple-A-affiliate Buffalo Bisons of the International League.

In 45 games with the Bisons, Thole is hitting .322 with an OPS of .581, no home runs and 17 runs batted in. He's appeared in nine games with the Jays this season where he has seven hits and two RBI in 29 plate appearances.

To make room for Thole, a corresponding roster move will need to be made. Infielder Matt Hague was called up from Buffalo on Monday, but has yet to feature in any game action. The 30-year-old is the likely candidate to be demoted for Thole.
