Toronto Blue Jays interim general manager Tony LaCava and Cleveland Indians executive Ross Atkins are two finalists for the Jays general manager position according to a report from Jon Heyman of CBSSports.com.

It is not known if they are the only two finalists but the report cites several people with knowledge of the process that say they would be surprised if anyone else was hired for the position.

LaCava, who was an assistant GM with the Blue Jays, was elevated to the interim GM position for the organization following the departure of Alex Anthopoulos at the end of the 2015 season.

Atkins worked for Shapiro in Cleveland for 15 years and was named vice president of player personnel last year.

The report also states that Shapiro would like to have a general manager in place before the winter meetings, which get underway on December 7th.
