(SportsNetwork.com) - LaRon Landry has tested positive for performance enhancing drugs for a second time in the last six months.

The free-agent safety was suspended 10 games without pay by the NFL for the latest positive test, a league spokesman said Friday.

Landry, who was released by the Indianapolis Colts last month, was suspended four games this past season over PEDs.

A second positive test generates an automatic 10-game suspension.

The 30-year-old had 47 tackles and 2 1/2 sacks in 11 games for the Colts, who saved more than $2 million in salary cap space by cutting the one-time Pro Bowl selection on Feb. 11.

Landry had a career-high 100 tackles in his only season for the New York Jets in 2012 after playing his first five years in the league with the Washington Redskins. He has 617 tackles, eight sacks and six interceptions in 103 career NFL games.
