Steve Spurrier is calling it a career.

According to multiple reports, the South Carolina Gamecocks head coach is retiring.

Spurrier has been at South Carolina the past 11 years after returning to the college ranks from the NFL. While he turned South Carolina into a consistant contender in the tough SEC during his time there, the Gamecocks have struggled the past two years.

Reports also suggest South Carolina's recruitment has taken a hit the past couple years because Spurrier has suggested at different times he's not long from retirement.

The 70-year-old was most successful at the University of Florida, where he won six SEC championships and the 1996 National Championship.
