One of the top free agents still available on the market will miss the first half of next season to suspension, according to a report from ESPN.

Free agent TJ McDonald has been suspended eight games for violating the league’s substance abuse policy, according to ESPN. The suspension stems from a traffic incident last year when McDonald was charged with driving under the influence of drugs.

The former Los Angeles Rams safety plead guilty to a misdemeanor count of reckless driving involving drugs and was sentenced to three years’ probation and a fine, and now the suspension from the NFL, according to the report.

The 26-year-old finished with 64 tackles and two interceptions in 16 starts for the Rams last season. In 53 games through four seasons, McDonald has 285 tackles and four interceptions.
